September 2019 Income Report

September was a month of rest. If you’re an entrepreneur, you know that sometimes you just need some time to rejuvenate from all the (wonderful) craziness in your life.

I know that sometimes finding that time to get away is challenging, but I highly recommend it. You will feel so much more clear about what you hope to achieve after you take some time to rest.

Here’s what happened on the blog last month while I (mostly) absent.

September 2019 Goals Review

Write 6 blog posts

As I mentioned above, September was a month of resting. So… this didn’t happen. I wrote two posts before realizing that I needed to take some time to just relax and think through my goals and what I want the rest of the year to look like. More on that below!

What Worked Well

Passive Income!

I barely touched the blog this month and I made $183! I’m super excited about the potential that shows for growing my blog to a full-time income.

All of my income this month was from affiliate purchases that people made through posts that I had written several months ago. I’m realizing that, as I write more blog posts, that income is just going to continue to grow.

What Didn’t Work Well

Me… Again

I’ve been working so hard for so long, that I really felt I needed to take a step back and give myself a break. In September (and the beginning of October), I did the bare minimum to get by and I’m totally okay with that.

The space that I’ve given myself has been incredible for rejuvenating and getting back to a place where I’m ready and excited to move forward with my business. I actually took a “personal retreat day” and drove to the beach to spend some time relaxing and thinking through what I want the rest of the year to look like. It was glorious!

I’m still going to be in rest mode through the end of October – so don’t expect much on next month’s income report either – but I’m now really excited about the rest of the year. I can’t wait for you to see everything that I have planned for the blog!

(Hint – You’ll be seeing a lot more from me in the next couple months!)

September 2019 Traffic

Pageviews: 15,137 (down from 16,749)
Email Subscribers: 396 (up from 302)
Pinterest followers: 3,300 (up from 2,972)
Facebook Page Likes: 25 (up from 22)

Pageviews were slightly down in September, but still really great since I barely touched the blog last month! I set everything up in Pinterest at the beginning of the month and the pageviews just came rolling in. I didn’t have to touch Tailwind (my Pinterest scheduling tool) again until this month!

Email subscribers were also up – almost 100 new subscribers! It makes me so excited to see the Jamimico community growing as more and more people decide to take their careers and lives into their own hands!

Here’s a look at my blog traffic for the month:

September 2019 Income

Income: $183.19

Bluehost$150
Amazon Affiliates: $28.69
Shareasale: $4.50

Yay for affiliate income! I love that I could step away from my blog almost completely and still make a decent amount of money through posts that I wrote over a year ago, in some cases.

September 2019 Expenses

Expenses: $29

ConvertKit: $29

Once again, ConvertKit was my only expense last month. And, as usual, ConvertKit is awesome and I will never regret paying for a good email service provider sooner than I thought I was ready for it. If you’re on the fence, do it! The number of new subscribers you receive in the first two months will more than pay for it. (You can get a free trial of ConvertKit here.)

My Business Goals for October 2019

No goals this month. Like I mentioned earlier, I’m still in rest mode through the end of the month, so I’m not pressuring myself to accomplish anything.

Ahh, the feeling of nothingness is amazing.

One Last Note

I love continuing to share with you my blogging journey, even as I have months like last one that have a lot of time away from the blog. I hope it’s helpful for you to see the reality of trying to create an online business while working full-time (and getting my MA part-time) and inspiring for you to see that I’m still slowly making progress.

How are things going with your blog? Any exciting new wins? Share in the comments!
