October is now over, so you know what that means… it’s the holiday season! And it’s time for my October income report. But, mostly, it’s now the holidays. Can you tell I love this time of year?
Get ready for #alltheChristmasspirit because it’s coming!
But, first, let’s take a look back at what happened on the blog in October.

What Worked Well
Planning is my favorite. Whenever I get to sit down and plan out anything – my day, my month, my life, you name it – I love it! Planning is my happy place.
So, I took a day at the beginning of the month to think through the next few months on the blog. I planned blog content, social media content, and, most importantly, income generation!
I now have everything for the blog planned out through February, which is a really good feeling.
What Didn’t Work Well
My traffic went down in October, mostly due to the lack of effort I put into blog content and Pinterest in September. In order to see continued growth, you have to be creating new content consistently, and I hadn’t done that for a while. So the (delayed) result of that finally hit me, and I had a lower traffic month than normal.
Not to worry, though, I expect traffic to go up over November as I get back into the habit of consistent content creation.
October 2019 Traffic
Pageviews: 11,952 (down from 15,137)
Email Subscribers: 453 (up from 396)
Pinterest Followers: 3,400 (up from 3,300)
Facebook Page Likes: 26 (up from 25)
Like I mentioned above, traffic was down, which means that all my other metrics were down, too.
I’ve realized, though, that traffic is not necessarily indicative of how the blog is currently doing as a whole. This month was actually a really great month for the blog and I feel more clear than ever on how to take this thing to next level.
Here’s a look at my blog traffic for the month:
October 2019 Income
My income was pretty low this month, partially as a result of me ignoring the blog in September and partially because people are getting busier as we head into the holiday season.
This level of income is where I expect my blog to stay until January. It’s all a part of the plan!
October 2019 Expenses
Genius Blogger’s Toolkit: $58.20
For those of you who have been around the blogging world for longer than a few months, you probably know about the Genius Blogger’s Toolkit. If not, it’s a super awesome bundle of blogging ebooks, courses, etc. for an incredibly low price and it’s only available a couple times a year. So, I bought it! And, it’s great!
My Business Goals for November 2019
Write 5 blog posts
I’ve been on a blog post roll for a few weeks now. This is actually the fourth week in a row that I’ve published a new blog post. Woo! Go me!
I plan to keep that streak going and publish at least one post a week (not including this one). I have specific posts that I want to get out there for affiliate purposes, so I really need to follow through this month.
Increase affiliate income
I’d really like to increase my affiliate income, so I created a plan! (Did I mention that I love planning?!)
The first part of the plan is to create a funnel for one of the products I’m an affiliate for. I already know which product and how I’m going to set it up, so, at this point, I just need to do it.
The other part of the plan is to write a couple blog posts for two of the other affiliate programs I’m a part of. (See my first goal for the month.)
Work on creating my first product
This is an exciting new development (well, sort of new) and I feel comfortable sharing it here because how many people actually read this part of the income report anyways, right?
So, if you’re reading this, know that you’re on the inside track. Look out for an official announcement after the new year!
One Last Note
Okay, I need to wrap this up because my computer is dying, and this coffee shop has a serious lack of plugs (#blogginglife).
So, I hope you found my October income report helpful. I’m excited to share with you all of the big plans I have over the next couple of months… and to share #alltheChristmasspirit. I can’t wait!
