Everything You Need to Know to Start a Blog Series
A Final Review
Before you put your blog out there for the world to see, make sure you test it on all the different devices and browsers. Not everyone will be using the same device and browser as you, and websites tend to look different on different platforms.
Check mobile friendliness
Check your blog on a smart phone and tablet. It will look different on each device. Try using an android and iPhone to see how it differs. Make sure you check your pop-ups and menus, which tend to have the most problems on mobile devices.
View the site in different browsers
Different readers will use different browsers. Check out your blog on Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and all the other popular browsers out there.
If you’ve made it to this point, you probably have some content up and ready to go. However, you also need a plan for what you’ll write next.
Creating a Content Schedule
To ensure that you are consistent with your content and that you’re giving readers plenty of new material to find, you should create a content schedule.
It might sound complicated, but it’s actually very simple.
First, brainstorm a list of posts that fit your blog’s niche. The longer your list, the more post topics you’ll have to choose from.
Once you have a list made, pick the posts that you really want to write and put them on the calendar. And that’s it!
You get to decide how often you post on your blog, but, when you’re first starting out, I’d recommend posting at least once a week. It also helps to be consistent with the days that you post. (But that doesn’t mean you can’t write ahead and have a bunch of posts stored up and ready to go.)
Launching the Blog!
And here it is. You’re officially ready to launch your blog!
Head on over to your site and hit that publish button!
Woo! Doesn’t it feel good?!
I’m so proud of you for taking the time to set up your blog for success. You could’ve taken the easy way out and thrown up a blog in a day, but, instead, you created a blog that will last for years and bring in a real income. Now, that’s something to celebrate!
One Last Note
I really can’t express just how proud of you I am!
I’ve been there, done that, and launching a blog is a ton of work. But it’s also just the beginning of your blogging journey. In the next and final post in the series, I’ll dive into some things you’ll need to know as you move forward with your blog.
Congrats, again! Here’s to the wonderful journey ahead of you!
