I’m going into 2019 with a renewed sense of excitement about my business. I know that I’m going to take things to the next level this year and I’m excited to get the ball rolling!
Here’s a look at my income from December and some of the things that went well… and not so well.

December 2018 Goals
This challenge was so scary for me.
I was terrified that I wouldn’t be able to wake up at 5:30 each morning, and that, even if I did, no one would even participate. Also, I had never done a Facebook live before and I had no idea what I was doing, so it all could have been an utter failure.
But I decided that I could control whether or not I wake up at 5:30 and that was the only thing I needed to worry about.
And I did it! I woke up at 5:30 every morning and followed through with the whole challenge, which was awesome!
One of the videos ended up being watch 42 times, which is incredible, considering that I don’t have that many followers yet. (If you really want to make my day, you can like my page. Wink wink.)
Overall, I’m really happy with how it went and I feel a million times more at ease now about doing live videos for my business.
Create an opt-in incentive
I ended up creating an opt-in incentive and have an idea for one more that I plan to create within the next week.
However, I’m having some trouble with technology, so I haven’t actually put the opt-in on my site yet. I was hoping to do a pop-up, but my email CRM’s pop-up isn’t working properly on my site, so we’ll see what happens.
I may end up manually adding the opt-in to each post that it pertains to. Something is better than nothing.
Here’s to the day that I can finally afford ConvertKit!
P.S. I finally gave in and signed up for ConvertKit and it is amazing! The pop-ups and in-post sign-ups work perfectly. They work so well that I nearly doubled my number of subscribers in my first month using ConvertKit!
My Business Goals for January 2019
Write 6 blog posts
I’ve been on a roll with writing recently, so I’m hoping to get ahead of it and post more than I have been.
I already have my content planned out through February, so now it’s just a matter of getting it done.
I know I need to be posting more than I have, so this is going to be a priority for me this month.
Create a funnel for my Pinterest services
As you can tell from the lack of clients I have, finding Pinterest clients has been much more difficult than I thought it would be. I have all the knowledge I need to do really well as a Pinterest manager and strategist, and I have the traffic from this blog to prove it.
But actually finding the people who need and want my services is much more difficult.
I keep hearing that Facebook groups are the place to go, but every time someone posts that they’re looking for a Pinterest manager, 100 other people beat me to it.
So, this month, I want to try creating a funnel that will draw my ideal clients to me, instead of me trying to chase them.
To be completely honest, I have no idea what I’m doing, except that I’m pretty sure it’s doable. Wish me luck.
Create an opt-in incentive for my most popular post
While I succeeded in creating an opt-in incentive last month, it really has nothing to do with my most popular post, and I’m afraid I’m losing a large group of potential subscribers by not catering specifically to the readers of that post.
With that being said, I’m hoping to figure out an opt-in incentive that will appeal to all the people visiting that one post.
December 2018 Traffic
Pageviews: 7,984 (up from 6,058)
Email Subscribers: 39 (up from 31)
Pinterest Followers: 551 (up from 446)
Facebook Page Likes: 6 (up from 3)
My traffic was so exciting this month! Towards the end of the month, it started going up and it just kept going.
I kept thinking, “maybe I’ll reach 6,500 pageviews this month” and then “maybe I’ll reach 7,000” and then “maybe I’ll reach 7,500”. And then I did. And it was awesome.
One of the things that I loved about my traffic this month is that it was more spread out across my posts than in previous months. While one post brought in drastically more traffic than the others, there were days when several posts were doing really well.
I didn’t post a lot of new content on the blog, but I was intentional about making a lot of new pins and a few of those really took off.
Here’s a look at my blog traffic for the month:
December 2018 Income
Amazon Affiliates: $3.27
Make Over Your Mornings: $8.50
My income went up a little this month. Woo!
I was actually hoping that more people would be shopping on Amazon this month and, therefore, I’d earn more through Amazon Affiliates, but that wasn’t the case. I’m curious to see if my Amazon income will go back up over the next few months.
December 2018 Expenses
Again, Tailwind was my only expense this month.
Tailwind saves me so much time by allowing me to schedule pins ahead of time. I love it so much that I’m not willing to give it up, even if, at the moment, it’s causing me to be in the red.
One Last Note
What a month! I hope you found my eighth income report encouraging, especially if you’re traffic has been level for a while. If you keep pushing forward, your traffic will grow eventually.
2018 ended really well, with over 7,500 pageviews in December, and it makes me really excited for what 2019 holds!
Here’s to a great year for all of us!
